BioData - Aquatic Bioassessment Data for the Nation

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) BioData Retrieval system captures, preserves, and serves aquatic bioassessment data (biological community and physical habitat data) collected by USGS scientists from stream ecosystems across the nation. It includes over 21,000 fish, benthic macroinvertebrate, and algae community samples and associated habitat data collected by USGS since 1993 at over 3,000 monitoring locations.

BioData has been taken offline

Critical security vulnerabilities have forced USGS to retire the BioData data retrieval website. This is a permanent decision. We ask for your patience while we develop an alternative data distribution channel and apologize for any inconvenience the current break in service may cause.
